What I’m Doing

As I write this, I am gearing up to move out of my family’s house for the first time, but when you read this, I will have already started classes at my new university. I have been through a lot to get to where I am, and I have a long way to go from here. I just transferred from a different university, and I couldn’t be more excited to get a fresh start. I don’t want to disclose where I am attending school, all I will say is that it’s a small state school not too far from where I call home.

I am studying music, which I love, and I have a single dorm. I just had my first experience of band camp, and it was quite the experience. Marching band will work me hard, but I am trying to have a positive outlook. Since I am a music major, I have quite a few classes this semester. I’m taking earth science with lab, music theory, aural skills, music history, marching band, concert band, flute lessons, flute choir, piano lessons, music convocation (recital attendance), and I am hoping to test out of the basic piano requirements. Fingers crossed. That’s twelve classes for a grand total of nineteen(-ish) credit hours. Here is a breakdown of how they add up:
Earth science lecture: 4
Earth science lab: 1
Music theory: 3
Aural skills: 1
Music history: 3
Marching band: 1
Concert band: 1
Flute lessons: 2
Flute choir: 1
Piano lessons: 1
Music convocation: 0, yes there is a zero credit hour class
Piano test: 1-4, depending on how well I do
It’s a little crazy, so I might not be able to post as many blogs during the semester, but I do want to keep up with the blog and post regularly. I don’t plan on getting a job, because I will be so busy with school and practice, but I will be uploading some songs to my website through Musicaneo (link below), if you are interested. Hopefully, I will have a few posts already written, edited, and scheduled before I start classes so that I can see how busy I will be and how much time I can dedicate to blogging during the semester. I would love to be able to publish two posts per week, but that might not be possible, and I don’t want to commit to something that I can’t follow through on.
As of the time of publishing, I have enough posts for two a week through mid-September.
If you want to keep up with me, I am on Twitter, so follow me, if you like.
Thanks for reading!
